Engaged in 2005 to manage a complex publishing endeavor signaling the last hurrah of the Biodiversity Support Program. Working with a dozen or more representatives of conservation organizations from around the globe, in person and by email and telephone, engineered the birth of a flagship publication, The Forests of the Congo Basin. What began as a serial brainstorm among a disparate group blossomed over a 9-month period into orchestrated publication success. Grammarians' managing editor devised and kept to a complicated schedule; kept tabs on team members constantly in motion around the globe; wrested submissions out of every author; oversaw editing, translating, design, desktop publishing, proofreading, and printing processes. Effort involved 13 Grammarians, was delivered on time … and … under budget.
